Senior Volunteers

Senior citizens contribute their helping hands in the Hamburg Central School District as volunteers in the elementary schools.
This involvement in school life has benefits all the way around. It means an extra set of hands in the classroom for teachers, and individual and small group attention for students. For the senior volunteers, there's the satisfaction of guiding and interacting with children. The volunteers help with a variety of non-teaching activities.

The time commitment is flexible and volunteers choose at which school they wish to assist. Each volunteer builds his or her own schedule based on what the teacher needs and on what the volunteer wants to give. Volunteers must have their own transportation.

The program runs through the school year, starting in October and ending in May. If you are interested in becoming a Senior Volunteer please fill out the Senior Volunteer Questionnaire by clicking this LINK and someone will be in touch shortly.

If you have further questions about our Senior Volunteer Program please feel free to reach out to Lindsay Glass in the Office of Curriculum and Instruction by email ([email protected]) or by phone: 716-646-3200 x7208.
