Parent Guide to Special Education

Hamburg Central School District welcomes parental involvement throughout their child's educational career in collaboration with educational staff and school teams. Students are provided instruction in the least restrictive environment appropriate for their needs. Placements may include, but are not limited to, consultant/co-teaching classrooms, resource room, self-contained classes, and out-of-district placement such as Erie 1 & 2 BOCES and private placements. To assist in this process, we encourage parents to have continued conversations with the Committee on Special Education, building administrator(s), and/or Director of Pupil Services.
