           PERSONS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE BOARD
           Some topics are not permitted to be discussed in the public forum; for example, any
           topic related to an employee or that can be implied to be related to an employee; special
           education placements, individual student situations, etc. If the topic is inappropriate for the
           public forum, the Board president will instruct you not to speak, but rather, present your
           concerns in writing for the Board’s discussion in Executive Session.

           The chair will recognize the individual or group. Individuals must identify themselves with
           name and address. The board will allocate a maximum of thirty (30) minutes for this agenda
           item. Speakers shall have a maximum of five (5) minutes each. In the event more than six (6)
           persons wish to address the board, they will each receive a proportionate share of the time.

H.1      CREATION OF POSITION IN TENURE AREA-PREFERRED ELIGIBILITY LIST

                        RECOMMENDED MOTION:  “that the Board of Education gives approval

                        to establish a .2 Art teaching position and that said teacher will be hired off

                        of the preferred eligibility list (PEL).” 

 

H.2      CREATION OF POSITION IN TENURE AREA

                        RECOMMENDED MOTION:  “that the Board of Education gives approval

                        to establish a .6 FTE Physical Education teaching position.”

 

            H.3      CREATION OF POSITION IN TENURE AREA

                        RECOMMENDED MOTION:  “that the Board of Education gives approval to

                        establish a .2 FTE Business Teacher position.”

 

H.4      CREATION OF POSITION IN PERMANENT CIVIL SERVICE POSITION

                        RECOMMENDED MOTION:  “that approval be given that:

                        Be it resolved upon recommendation of the Acting/Interim Superintendent of Schools 
                        that the following civil service position is created effective August 27, 2013:
          

                                    Clerk Typist RPT – 4 hours/day – 5 days/week

 

            H.5      RESOLUTION - CERTIFIED LEAD EVALUATOR RESOLUTION

                        RECOMMENDED MOTION:  “that the Board of Education of the Hamburg 
                        Central School District approves of the following resolution:

 

            WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the Hamburg Central School District is
required by Part 30-2 of the Rules of the Board of Regents to certify lead evaluators as
“qualified” lead evaluators prior to conducting and/or completing evaluations as part of
annual professional performance reviews performed in accordance with NY Education
Law §3012-c and Part 30-2; and

       

                                    WHEREAS, to qualify for certification as a lead evaluator, individuals must 
                        successfully complete training which meets the minimum requirements as set forth in 
                        Part 30-2.9(b) of the Regents Rules; and

 

                                    WHEREAS, the Interim Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Richard E. Jetter, is the 
                        primary individual responsible for evaluating building principals of the District; and

 

                                    WHEREAS, building principals, assistant principals and directors are the primary 
                        individuals responsible for evaluating classroom teachers in the District; and 

 

            WHEREAS, Principals Leslie Bennett, James Martinez, Danielle Grimm,
Jacqueline Peffer, Jennifer Giallella, Michael Gallagher; and Assistant Principals Julie
Gajewski, John Crangle, Brent Jordan, Michael Tylock; and Directors Colleen Kaney and
Patrick Cauley, have successfully completed training which meets the minimum
requirements of Part 30-2.9(b);

 

                                    NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the individuals named above 
                        are hereby certified as qualified lead evaluators for the purpose of conducting and/or 
                        completing evaluations of classroom teachers as part of annual professional performance 
                        reviews performed in accordance with NY Education Law §3012-c and Part 30-2 of the 
                        Rules of the Board of Regents.

 

            H.6      MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING – POLICE DEPARTMENTS

RECOMMENDED MOTION: “that the Board of Education of the Hamburg
Central School District approves of the individual Memorandums of Understanding,
regarding the implementation of the District’s Safety Plan, between the district and
the following Police Departments/Agencies:

                        RECOMMENDED MOTION: “that the Board of Education hereby approves

                        that the topic of extending the elementary school day in 2014-2015 be

                        considered and discussed by both the Hamburg Teachers’ Association (HTA) 
                        and the District Transportation Committee.”

 

H.11    CONTRACT FOR SPECIAL SERVICES – SPEECH SERVICES

 

            H.12    HTA GRIEVANCE

            RECOMMENDED MOTION:  “that the board of education hereby

            determines that the grievance regarding Article 12 (Section 5) and Article 15

            (Sections B, C, E), filed with the HTA is (founded/denied). 
 

            H.13    HTA GRIEVANCE

            RECOMMENDED MOTION:  “that the board of education hereby

            determines that the grievance regarding Article 25 and Article 33, filed

            with the HTA is (founded/denied).
