Energy conservation lauded
For saving enough energy to equate to planting more than 15,668 trees, Hamburg Central has received The Award for Energy Stewardship from a national consultant firm. The award recognizes the district’s success in launching a behavior-based energy conservation and management program. Hamburg started the program in conjunction with consultant Energy Education more than a year ago. During that time, the district has saved $90,496 in electric, natural gas and water costs, taking into account the weather. This is a 16.5% energy savings.
