                        Superintendent Michael R. Cornell will present the recommended 2017-18

                        budget to the Board for adoption.

 

                        “Motion that the proposed 2017-18 budget in the amount of $67,795,500 be

                          adopted and presented to the voters of the Hamburg Central School District

                          in one proposition on May 16, 2017 as follows:

“Motion that the Board of Education authorizes an Amendment to

                        Superintendent Michael R. Cornell’s contract covering the period of
                        April 18, 2017 to April 17, 2022.”

                    

            G.24    EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT

Motion that the Board of Education approves the Employment Agreement

                        between the district and the Assistant Superintendent of Administrative
                        Services & Finance Barbara S. Sporyz effective on July 1, 2017 to
                        June 30, 2020.”

Motion that the Board of Education approves the Employment Agreement

                        between the district and the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services,
                        Curriculum, and Instruction Colleen B. Kaney effective on July 1, 2017 to

Motion that the Board of Education approves the Employment Agreement

                        between the district and the Director of Technology and Information
                        Services Brent F. Jordan effective on July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020.”

 

            G.27    SIDEWALK WORK – CONTRACT WITH SCOTT LAWN YARD

Motion that the Board of Education of the Hamburg Central School

District authorizes the Hamburg Central School District to "Piggyback" off

the Village of Hamburg's contract with Scott Lawn Yard, in an effort to

increase administrative efficiency and to reduce both administrative cost and

purchasing cost of goods and services, in accordance with amendments to

NYS GML 100 through 104, and in full compliance with the new regulations,

for sidewalk work around the perimeter of Howe Field, approximately 1,065

linear feet from the corner of Division and Legion Streets to the existing

sidewalk at the Middle School and approximately 710 linear feet on Division

Street from the new Howe Field entrance to the Middle School service road

entrance, in an amount not to exceed $83,953.88.”

         

 
H.        PUBLIC EXPRESSION AND INFORMATION  

PERSONS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE BOARD

Some topics are not permitted to be discussed in the public forum; for example, any topic related
to an employee or that can be implied to be related to an employee; special education placements,
individual student situations, etc. If the topic is inappropriate for the public forum, the Board
president will instruct you not to speak, but rather, present your concerns in writing for the
Board’s discussion in Executive Session.

According to the district’s Civility Policy #3150, the district promotes mutual respect, civility,
and orderly conduct among District employees, parents, and the public. The policy is not
intended to deprive any person of his or her right to freedom of expression. Rather, seek to
maintain, to the extent possible and reasonable, a safe, harassment-free workplace for students
and staff. In the interest of presenting teachers and other employees as positive role models,
we encourage positive communication and discourage volatile, hostile, or aggressive actions.

            This District seeks public cooperation with this endeavor.
 

According to the district’s Code of Conduct on School Property Policy #3410, there are
provisions regarding conduct deemed appropriate and acceptable on school property and at
school functions, conduct deemed unacceptable and inappropriate on school property; and
provisions regarding acceptable civil and respectful treatment of teachers, school administrators,
other school personnel, students and visitors on school property and at school functions
(school board meetings).

The chair will recognize the individual or group. Individuals must identify themselves with name
and address. The board will allocate a maximum of thirty (30) minutes for this agenda item.

            Speakers shall have a maximum of five (5) minutes each.In the event more than six (6) persons
            wish to address the board, they will each receive a proportionate share of the time.
