*6:30Executive Session – It is anticipated the Board will adjourn into Executive Session at
             6:30 to discuss negotiations with the Hamburg Teachers’ Association, the employment

             contract of a non-represented employee, discussions regarding the sale of property  

             (former location of Southtown Teachers’ Center) to the Village of Hamburg,  and 
             regarding the potential sale of the Hamburg maintenance garage,
Retirement 
             Incentive with HTA, and Retirement Incentive with SRP’s (Hamburg Teacher Aide
             Association-Teacher Aides; Service Employees International Union Local 200 United-
              Maintenance; Teamsters Local #264-Secretaries; Hamburg Registered Professional
              School Nurses’, COTA’s, Computer Aides’, Microcomputer Repair Technicians’
             Association; and other non-represented employees.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:  "that the Board nominates Mr. John Sherman,
residing at 30 Milton Street, Tonawanda, which is located in the Tonawanda City
School District; and Ms. Janet MacGregor Plarr, residing at 3494 Heatherwood
Drive, Hamburg, which is located in the Frontier Central School District; as
candidates for election to be held on April 22, 2014, to serve as trustees for the
Board of Cooperative Educational Services, First Supervisory District of Erie
County, in a term beginning July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2017.”

            RECOMMENDED MOTION: “Resolved that the Board of Education of the

            Hamburg Central School District reimburse a sum not to exceed $40.00

            for medical expenses related to injuries sustained during school activities on

            April 8, 2013.”  

 

            G.9      RETIREMENT INCENTIVE - HTA

RECOMMENDED MOTION: “that the Board of Education of the Hamburg
Central School District approves the Retirement Incentive Memorandum of
Agreement between the district and the HTA.”     

 

G.10    EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT

                        RECOMMENDED MOTION:  “that the Board of Education hereby

                        approves of the Employment Agreement between the Board of Education

                        of the Hamburg Central School District and the Secretary to the

                        Superintendent/Secretary to the Board of Education effective July 1, 2014

                        through June 30, 2017."    

 

            G.11    RETIREMENT INCENTIVE– SCHOOL RELATED PERSONNEL

RECOMMENDED MOTION: “that the Board of Education of the Hamburg
Central School District approves the Retirement Incentive Memorandum
of Agreement between the district and the following bargaining units:

 

Hamburg Teacher Aide Association (Teacher Aides);

Service Employees International Union Local 200 United (Maintenance);

                        Teamsters Local #264 (Secretaries);

                        Hamburg Registered Professional School Nurses’, Certified Occupational

                                    Therapy Assistants’, Computer Aides’, Microcomputer Repair

                                    Technicians’ Association; and

Other non-represented employees.

          

 

H.        PUBLIC EXPRESSION AND INFORMATION

PERSONS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE BOARD

Some topics are not permitted to be discussed in the public forum; for example, any topic
related to an employee or that can be implied to be related to an employee; special
education placements, individual student situations, etc. If the topic is inappropriate for
the public forum, the Board president will instruct you not to speak, but rather,
present your concerns in writing for the Board’s discussion in Executive Session. 
 

According to the district’s Civility Policy #3150, the district promotes mutual respect,
civility, and orderly conduct among District employees, parents, and the public.  The
policy is not intended to deprive any person of his or her right to freedom of expression. 

            Rather, seek to maintain, to the extent possible and reasonable, a safe, harassment-free
            workplace for students and staff.  In the interest of presenting teachers and other employees
            as positive role models, we encourage positive communication and discourage volatile,
            hostile, or aggressive actions.  This District seeks public cooperation with this endeavor.

 

The chair will recognize the individual or group. Individuals must identify themselves
with name and address. The board will allocate a maximum of thirty (30) minutes for this
agenda item.  Speakers shall have a maximum of five (5) minutes each.  In the event more
than six (6) persons wish to address the board, they will each receive a proportionate share
of the time. 
 

 

I.          RETURN TO EXECUTIVE SESSION 

RECOMMENDED MOTION:  “Motion to return to Executive Session to discuss

personnel matters related to the Superintendent Search and that the Board of Education
will not take any action this evening.
 
 

THE PURPOSE OF THE EXECUTIVE SESSION IS TO CONTINUE THE

SUPERINTENDENT SELECTION PROCESS.  THE BOARD IS NOT EXPECTED

TO TAKE ANY FORMAL ACTION.  THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC SESSION

ITEMS DURING THIS PORTION OF THE MEETING.
